buying with pfk

Buying at Auction is an extremely popular method of making a purchase and we are proud of the wide variety of items we are able to offer our buyers. There is something intriguing about a range of unique items with a story to tell, combined with the exhilarating buzz of taking part. Each fortnight we welcome buyers to our Collector’s Carousel auctions, each featuring a different collecting category from antiques, fine art and jewellery through to fine wines, spirits and vintage vehicles.

This is followed by our Interiors & Clearance Auctions, which are mixed, eclectic sales of antique and later furnishings and effects, jewellery, silver, artwork and more, held fortnightly.

Additionally, we stage our specialist #curatedbypfk themed gallery-standard lifestyle sales, with lots on offer all in excellent condition and curated by us, with interesting items ready for your home. Many of our clients repeatedly visit us, with our welcoming environment and home-made refreshments, the majority choose to stay with us for the day, so come along and enjoy the fun!

how to bid

We would be delighted to see you at our Saleroom in person. Based near Penrith, just off J40 of the M6, you will be welcomed by our friendly and efficient staff and can enjoy the auction in the comfort of our spacious, modern Saleroom. A paddle number is required for all Auctions and is available free of charge. All you need to do is register at the office on arrival and you’re ready to start bidding!

If you would like to bid via telephone, please contact a member of staff in the office who would be able to arrange this for you. Telephone bids must be booked by close of business on the day before the sale to ensure adequate time for processing. Telephone lines are reserved on a ‘first come, first served’ basis so early booking is always advantageous.

A secondary back-up number and a back-up commission bid are both good ways to ensure your bid is not missed. We will telephone you around 5 lots prior to the relevant lot to ensure a good connection.

If you can’t attend the sale and are also unable to bid live online, you can leave us with absentee commission bids to execute on your behalf. You can leave bids with us in the office prior to sale, or you can email or telephone bids through to us. We would greatly appreciate the receipt of all bids by the end of the sales viewing period, to allow us time to process them. We cannot guarantee the execution of bids left after the start of the sale.

At PFK Auctioneers we are proud to say that we were the first auctioneers in the region to offer online bidding. We attract a truly global audience as a result of our live bidding platforms, so if this is something you are interested in, we would really like for you to take part in our auctions by accessing them online.  Live bidding is available for all of our auctions.  To bid live during the auction please follow the link to and register your details.

We recommend Bradleys Antique Packing Services (T: 01325 281 332 E: for all postage and packing requests and do not offer an in-house service, with the exception of single small items that can be sent in a Jiffy bag within the UK.
