6TH SEPTEMBER SALE GOES WITH A BANG!

Our Fortnightly Interiors auction on 6th September featured a section of Militaria and almost literally went with a bang – posting a fantastic sale total of £39,000: close to our all time record sale total!

Proving how popular the collecting field of Militaria is at the moment, we had a strong section of entries achieving a section total of £17,000: a figure that pleased our specialist, Ben Edgar.

Top of the section was a fine 17th Century English flintlock pistol selling at £1,600, whilst close behind a WWII Nazi dagger with Robert Klass maker’s mark sold for £1,040.

Elsewhere a good set of WWI medals including a Distinguished Conduct Medal awarded to A/Sjt J.W. Hill of 57th West Lancs Division Signal Coy Royal Engineers sold for £950, the Distinguished Conduct Medal being awarded for operations in Lille in October 1918 where telephone communications were kept largely due to the actions of A/Sjt Hill.

The sale also included our usual eclectic Fortnightly Interiors selection, with highlights here including the £1,600 paid for a fine quarter size Albany Fine China porcelain model of a peacock as well as good prices achieved for two motorcycles: a Triumph Speed Triple 955i selling at £900, whilst a Yamaha FJR 1300 sold for a healthy £1,800.

Entries are now invited for all future auctions, including our October 4th Fortnightly Interiors auction which features a Wines & Spirits section, as well as our November 22nd Fine & Rare auction.

Our Next sale including Militaria will be in March 2018 – date to be announced.
