The highest selling lot was an elegant pair of 18ct diamond solitaire earrings totalling 1.68cts worth of diamonds. Sourced from a private vendor, the earrings sold to the room at £900!
From a vendor in Culgaith, a pair of gilt plaster table lamps of Art Deco design sold to the internet for £220!
Sourced from a vendor in Tirril, a French l’Epee brass repeating carriage clock had plenty of bids, selling to the internet for £220!
Violins and their related items are a permanent favourite with our buyers at PFK! A quantity of violin bows and parts sold to the internet at £280!
Most valuable among the Militaria in for this sale, three German WWII badges including an iron cross sold for £190 to the internet! A 3rd Reich Officer’s sword, marked WMW Waffen, Mak Weysberg sold for £170 to the internet! A box of gents vintage watches and two army photos sold to the internet for £110! Two German WWI bullet pouches were popular with the room at £110. The most wanted lot on the-saleroom.com, a WWI bayonet didn’t disappoint at £110! A Maasai warrior’s steel Errap (arm band) sold for £180 to a bidder in Germany.
Air rifles did well in this sale. One with a S410 Nikko stirling 6-24-30 scope and other accessories sold to the internet for £350. An Air Arms S200 air rifle with a Tasco mil dot scope, moderator etc sold to the same buyer for £300.
A Perivale Sewing Silk advertising chest including threads fetched a healthy £220!
Paintings didn’t disappoint. An oil on canvas, ‘The Cattle Drive’ sold to a commission bidder for £200! Simon Bull prints are still a favourite in our saleroom! A colour print ‘Meditation’ sold for £150. A G.H. Pooley watercolour ‘Pike and Sickle’ sold to the internet for £130!
Bedroom furniture was popular in this sale! Most valuable, an Art Deco walnut bedroom suite from a deceased estate sold to the internet for £360! Consigned from a local house clearance, a Victorian figured walnut and ebonised dressing table did well at £240 to a commission bidder. The internet snapped up a striking Victorian pitch pine triple wardrobe of Aesthetic Design at £240! A Victorian figured walnut and ebonised three-door wardrobe sold for £220.
Most popular among the sofas, a Chesterfield with an unusual zig-zag patterned upholstery sold to the room for £240! A pair of Howard style chairs in floral upholstery also did well at £170!
Miscellaneous furniture did well. Popular with the room, an Italian marquetry topped desk sold for £150. An oak 4-tier stacking bookcase in the style of Globe Wernicke sold for £150. Six exterior copper lanterns and stands received plenty of pre-sale interest and commission bids. The internet snapped it up at £150! Most popular among the safes, a 19th Century Thomas Altham safe sold to the room for £120. A 5-piece wrought iron fire set did well at £130.
George III pieces are doing well. A mahogany chest of drawers with gallery sold to an internet bidder for £110. At the same level, a pine 2/3 chest sold to the room.
