Our 14th August Curated auction did well, fetching healthy prices!
The highest selling lot received plenty of pre-sale enquiries! An early 19th Century Darte Freres Paris porcelain gilded part coffee service, including seven coffee cups, saucers and a lidded sucriere, sold to an internet bidder in France for £650!
Ceramics did well! Most valuable, a 19th Century Chinese Famille Verte porcelain two-handled vase did well with an internet bidder in China at £400! Sourced from a private vendor, two early Royal Doulton figures – Aileen HN1664 and Irene HN1621 attracted two phone bidders, one winning out at £95!
We had a quantity of poison and medicine bottles in this sale. One lot in particular including three Victorian blue glass poison bottles and 29 early 20th Century clear glass Medicine bottles did well at £300! Three similar lots made a collective £310!
A clear glass twin-handled decanter and stopper, enamelled ‘Old Orkney Special Scotch Whisky Stromness Distillery Orkney’ caught the eye of a internet bidder in Belgium at £180!
Paintings did well. A Ralph Waterhouse (born 1943) watercolour of a Green Woodpecker, signed and framed did well with the internet at £280! A James Kinnear (c.1846-1917) oil painting depicting a Gamekeeper in a winter landscape sold for £160!
A William IV rosewood pole screen containing floral embroidery sold to the room for £100.
A 19th Century French ormolu mounted Kingwood work table sold for £250.
