It was bottoms up and cheers all round for PFK’s Interiors Auction on 4th October as the Wines & Spirits section sold out to a healthy £4,000!
First up in the sale were the spirits, with good prices for Glenbridge and Macallan at £140 & £120 respectively, whilst a vintage bottle of E. Piercel de St. Jacques Cognac Napoleon made £190. In the port, an old bottle thought to be Taylor’s 1920 made £200 whilst a single bottle of Graham’s 1970 made £55. Vintage miniatures and champagne also enjoyed a healthy trade, with one lot of mixed miniatures, including Gordon’s Lemon Gin, selling for £55.
The wine section comprised a global selection with both European and New World wines well represented: and all enjoyed strong competition from bidders. Chief amongst the European wines were six bottles of Domaine Michel Lafarge Beaune Les Aigrots 2008 selling at £140 and, not to be outdone in the New World section, seven bottles of RBJ Theologicum Barossa Valley, Australia 1999 sold for a respectable £120.

The 4th October auction also included – as ever in our Interiors auctions – a wide variety of eclectic items from jewellery to furniture and several individual highlights are worth mentioning.
In the jewellery, a Gents 9ct gold Accurist wristwatch sold for £300, whilst in the mixed collectors section, a quantity of Liberty fabric made £160 and a quantity of fishing accessories and tackle sold for £240. Later in the sale a Broadwood & Sons boudoir piano sold for £280.
In the tools and household section, a K5 multi workshop bench sold for £240, whilst there was strong competition, as ever, for other tools, bicycles and useful items.
Furniture sold strongly as ever, with a good oak refectory table of Elizabethan design fetching £440, a pair of Victorian wing armchairs of Queen Anne design selling for £480 and a large Duresta settee achieving £500.
Our next Interiors auction is to be held on Wednesday 18th October and features Vehicles and Automobilia as the featured section: viewing opens Saturday 14th October 9am. We hope to see you there! A quirky highlight is this Peugeot 101 pedal moped!
