WINTER SPORTS & EXPLORATION SALE RESULTS

Our Winter Sports & Exploration sale did well, with quite a few surprises in store!

The highest selling lot received plenty of pre-sale interest. A Scottish School oil of St Monans, East Neuk proved popular with a commission bidder at £1,000!

Among the bikes in the section, a Bianchi 20 speed road bike sold for parts caught the internet’s attention at £160.

Amongst the silver, a rectangular tray with ribbed engine turned design sold for £180. Not far behind, an Edward VII vesta case in the form of a cricket ball sold for £160.

Most valuable among the instruments, a Schreiber standard bassoon in its case sold to the internet for £700!

Most popular among the copper, a Persian/Islamic copper engraved finial sold to the internet at £180.

A quantity of 1/12 scale dolls house furniture sold to the internet at £200.

Popular among the oils, an Erik W. Gleave example of a reclining female nude sold to the internet at £340. A 19th Century oil portrait of a lady sold to the room at £160.

Rugs and carpets are doing well! Consigned from a private vendor, a tree of life runner sold at £500. Not far behind, a Persian runner of Qashqai design sold for £440. A Heriz Persian rug also sold for £400. A red Persian rug of Qashqai design sold to the internet at £200.

Most valuable among the furniture, a 1970s teak table and six chairs proved popular with the internet at £480.

Following on from the success of Mid Century in our last sale, a pair of teak chests of drawers from a Kendal deceased estate did well with the internet at £380. From the same source, a Scandinavian rosewood four seat bed settee caught the internet’s eye at £320. A Heals oak sideboard sold to the room at £220. From a house clearance, a Habitat style cabinet with a laminate top sold to the internet at £200.

Exceeding expectations, a Victorian brass and iron bed did well at £110.

A set of four Ercol hoop back chairs did well at £130.

Forever a popular subject in our saleroom, a Victorian pine farmhouse table sold to the internet at £340.

From a house clearance, a Victorian mahogany double bed sold to a commission bid at £150.

A Miele prestige plus six washing machine had the room’s attention at £110.
