Oriental & Ethnographia

From a Chinese embroidered silk waistcoat found in a suitcase in the back of a wardrobe (sold for £6,100) to a Chinese bronze mirror sold for £21,400 (consigned by a South Lakes vendor who had inherited and simply wanted rid of it), the demand for all things Oriental appears to be insatiable – and at PFK we continue to receive our fair share of superb items and incredible sales.

This demand is largely from Chinese buyers for Chinese objects but there is a general increased demand for all Asian objects, including Japanese, Korean and notably Indian.

As well as this, there is an enduring demand for Australian Aboriginal, Fijian, Maori, Polynesian and South African objects.

Often buyers for these objects are seeking to ‘repatriate’ these items, pieces which were often collected and sent to Britain during the days of Empire.

As online auctioneers with a global reach, we are able to facilitate sales of your items to the buyers who want them most and achieve excellent sales results.
